Friction sawing is the fastest, lowest cost-per-cut machining method for applications within scope. It can cut materials which can be machined in no other way. Unlike other friction sawing methods, band machine friction sawing can be used for contour as well as straight cutting. Use of friction sawing is imperative when it is the only method for machining certain materials, and specifically band machine friction sawing must be employed when radii are to be cut. Only band machine friction sawing adds to these properties minimal cost coupled with high speed.
