Lagun Machinery opens its doors with 15 employees in the industrial town of Elgoibar, Spain. The bench-type hand mill is the first machine produced.
1940'S
Geminis heavy Lathes, Lagun Heavy Mills are two separate companies that are born to make larger equipment.
1960
Lagun’s products, including milling machines and lathes, are introduced to the American market.
1968
Republic Machinery Company, Inc,. is established in California. A few years later it is renamed Republic Lagun Machine Tool Co.
1978
Republic Lagun CNC is formed, to build special machines for the U.S. Government, including explosive-proof machines for the Department of Defense. Our technology, machine components and engineering starts to expand into the aerospace, aircraft, automobile, construction and electronics industries, just to name a few.
1990'S
Geminis and Lagun join forces to form Goratu.
1997
Lagun Officially goes into second generation ownership and becomes certified as a Women Owned Small Business
1998
Begin representing Zayer and their CNC milling machines including a fixed and moving column, bridge and gantry.
2000
Introduced high-precision column-type automatic and CNC surface grinders, manufactured in Germany.
2002
Start representing Spanish manufacturer’s, Bermaq’s, acrylic polishing and composite machinery.
2009
Lagun is named an official USA Luge Team sponsor and assist in building luges for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
2012
Become official integrators of Fanuc Robotics, providing automation products and services such as robotics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotics) and computer numerical control (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numerical_control) systems.
2015
Goratu factory further expands their series of Geminis Lathes and introduces the multiprocess horizontal and vertical lathes, models GHTM and VL.
